I'm a personal trainer in New York City and the area.

I’ve been a personal trainer in and out of commercial gyms for the last 10 years. Recently, I decided to set sail for the great big internet horizon.

My story

TL;DR:

I’ll help you achieve your fitness goals in a way you will like and protect your joints for years to come.

This is a story about a girl named Lucky.

No, just kidding.

Hi there, I’m Or Asher Raphael Malul, and I’m going to try to make this segment shorter than my name.

​

This is me at 15.

I think it’s the only picture I have of me at that age. I was an overweight teenager, terrified of my body, terrified of doing any type of fitness or sports. I couldn’t even look at myself in the mirror.

 

I was hiding behind my hair and big dark clothes. Because I was so ashamed of and disconnected from my body, I used to wear hoodies in the summer (Tel Aviv summer of 30+ Celsius and 10000% humidity).

*Now, 20 years later, I feel and look the best I ever have.

My journey with fitness, nutrition, and health started when I was 20. I joined a gym at 18 but never really went. At 20, I rejoined the gym but still didn’t go much, maybe once a week.

 

I didn’t know what I was doing and didn’t have the right advice or influence. I just went to the gym and had no idea what to do.

Eventually, I started understanding more, with the help of some very good and some very bad trainers.

In 2014, I decided I wanted to be a coach! I wanted to have all the information so I wouldn’t need anyone’s help!

I went to The Wingate Institute in Israel and got my education journey going.

I was so happy, I finally knew everything!

Then came shoulder pain, knee pain, and lower back pain.

I didn’t want to train. Everything was hurting all the time.

My shoulder hurt when I tried to bench press, my knees hurt when I tried to squat, and my lower back hurt when I tried to deadlift.

And it didn’t necessarily come from bad form.

I was miserable.

​

But then I found this PT who has been my bible ever since. I started using some of his techniques in my training and I am now pain-free.

I can lift heavier for longer with better recovery.

 

That made me feel like I could be the best trainer you’ll ever have. I need to spread the word! And have been doing so since, helping my clients, friends, and family with their fitness goals—whether it’s losing body fat, toning up, running a marathon, getting huge, getting ready for a wedding, and so much more—

all while significantly reducing the risk of potential injury.

I teach you proper form and help you improve to best fit your anatomy and goals while building stronger muscles!

Recently, after acquiring Equinox's EFTI training

I'm even more eager to share my knowledge.

My mission is to help you build a stronger, more fit you, but also to make it relatable for you

Oh, and I haven't even started on having IBS and being a vegetarian that has Soy intolerance and can't eat salads. 

My nutrition journey is also a long story, ask me about it if you want.

Assessment and consultation

We begin by discussing your goals, training history, recovery (sleep, stress management), and any relevant medical history.

I will evaluate how your body moves through certain exercises, establishing your baseline and ensuring safe and effective training.

Check ins

Depending on your selected plan, we’ll have regular check-ins—monthly, weekly, or every session.

 

We will review your successes, address any obstacles, and make adjustments to your training plan as needed. Your success is my success, and I take great joy in seeing my clients reach their goals.

Getting to work

Based on the plan you choose, we will start setting up 1-on-1 sessions or providing you with a personalized program and scheduling our check-ins.

We’ll work together to overcome challenges and achieve your goals. I’ll be available via email to answer any questions promptly.

Achieving the first goal and unlocking the next one

Once we achieve your initial goals, we will recalibrate and set new, bigger objectives. We’ll push forward together, continually striving for greater success.
